Furniture-grade styling with a convertible S/L track

3D · SL track

Pros

  • Human Touch's current setup guidance asks for only 2 in behind the chair (plus 5 in clear in front)
  • Convertible S- and L-track coverage with underfoot and calf rollers
  • 5-year structural, 3-year parts, 1-year labor warranty, per Human Touch's warranty page

Cons

  • 3D rather than 4D rollers at a near-$9,000 price
  • We could not load a Human Touch product page for the Certus (that is not proof it is discontinued); our sources are Human Touch's support articles, warranty page and brochure, plus one authorized retailer
  • Human Touch's older brochure says zero wall clearance, but its current Certus support article asks for 2 in behind — plan for the 2 in
  • We have not verified a model-specific user height range, airbag count, track length, or Bluetooth/app support in the sources checked
  • Sold out in every colour at Discount Massage Chairs when checked on September 27, 2026; that seller lists factory-renewed chairs under its own 2-year resale limited warranty, not Human Touch's new-chair 5/3/1 coverage — confirm condition and terms with the seller. Our Take

Our editorial assessment of this chair, based on verified specifications rather than hands-on testing. This is a Research Review.

The Certus is the most interesting chair Human Touch publishes, and it is not the flagship. Human Touch's brochure describes a convertible track that can run as an S track or an L track, 3D rollers, heat at the lumbar, calves and feet, and a zero-wall-clearance pivot. Human Touch's current Certus support article is more conservative: allow at least 2 inches behind and 5 inches in front, and that is what we use for space planning. It does not state a track length we could verify.

It carries a 285 lb weight limit. We have not verified a model-specific user height range in the sources checked, so shorter buyers should confirm fit with the seller before ordering.

The brochure does not mention Bluetooth, an app or voice control. That silence is not proof the chair lacks them, but nothing we checked confirms them either, so do not buy it expecting connectivity. You get the same convertible track type, heat at the lumbar, calves and feet, a similar 2-inch rear clearance and the same standard 5/3/1 warranty tiers as the Super Novo 2.0. When we checked on September 27, 2026, the one authorized seller we recorded showed it sold out in every colour, and we could not load a Certus product page on Human Touch's own site — which is not proof the model is discontinued. Human Touch's doorway guide lists 28.5 inches for the Certus but does not say whether that assumes parts removed, so confirm the transport configuration with the seller.

Where it fits in the Human Touch range

The Certus undercuts its own flagship on price with a similar convertible track, the same standard warranty tiers and a similar 2-inch rear clearance. Within Human Touch's range it is the value choice; the Super Novo 2.0 adds connectivity and software.

Same recorded price or less

  • Osaki OS-Highpointe 4DAbout $4,000 less than the Certus4D rollers for around $4,000 less, if roller depth control matters more than furniture styling and fit range.

Higher recorded price

  • Human Touch Super Novo 2.0About $2,000 more than the CertusThe same brand's flagship, adding voice and app control and three-stage zero gravity, on a similar convertible S/L track.

What you’re really paying for

Compared with cheaper 3D chairs, here is what the Certus price actually buys, based on Human Touch's published specifications.

  • Convertible S/L trackYou choose whether the stroke stops at the tailbone or continues under the seat. Few chairs publish this (Human Touch's Super Novo 2.0 is another), and it is the single feature that justifies the chair's position in the range.
  • Zero required wall clearanceHuman Touch's brochure describes a zero-wall-clearance design, so the chair can sit close to a wall. In a small room this is worth more than most feature-list items.
  • Heat at lumbar, calves and feetThree published zones. The Super Novo 2.0 also heats the feet and calves, adding a dual lumbar zone.
  • Five-year warranty structureFive years structural, three years parts, one year labor as standard — the same tiers Human Touch lists for the Super Novo 2.0.
  • Connectivity not verifiedThe brochure does not mention Bluetooth, an app or voice control, and we found no other official source that does. Treat it as a remote-controlled chair unless the seller confirms otherwise.

Who it suits, who should skip it

A design-led 3D chair with a convertible S/L track and a small 2-inch rear clearance in Human Touch's current setup guidance. Research Review built from Human Touch's official Certus brochure; we have not sat in this chair.

Best for: Furniture-grade styling with a convertible S/L track. Skip it if you fall outside the stated fit (Not verified in sources checked, up to 285 lb), cannot give it 2" of wall clearance, or would rather spend less — our budget guides cover cheaper verified chairs.

Buying trade-offs from the published specs

  • We have not verified a model-specific user height range for the Certus in the sources checked. Track length is not a fit rating, so confirm roller reach at the shoulders in person or with the seller before buying.
  • It needs only 2 in. behind the backrest to recline, so it can sit close to a wall.
  • Its stated user weight limit is 285 lb; 13 chairs we publish list a higher limit.
  • 3 other 3D chairs we publish have a lower recorded price, so the premium has to be justified by fit, warranty or features.
  • Warranty as published: 5-year limited (5 years structural, 3 years parts, 1 year labor). Compare labor, parts and structure tiers separately.

Massage system

Rollers and track: 3D rollers on a SL track. More roller axes add depth and rhythm control; track shape decides how far down the body the rollers travel.

Air, feet and calves: an unverified number of airbags; foot rollers yes, calf rollers yes. Airbag counts are not comparable across brands without placement data.

Heat, recline and programs: heat at lumbar, calves, feet; an unverified number of zero-gravity position(s); stretch programs yes; body scanning yes.

We have not measured pressure, noise or heat output on this chair; these figures are the manufacturer's.

Frequently asked questions about the Human Touch Certus

Answers are generated from the same cited specifications shown above. Where a figure is not published by the manufacturer, we leave the question out rather than guess.

What is the weight limit on the Human Touch Certus?
The published maximum user weight is 285 lbs. That figure is a structural limit for the frame and airbags, not a comfort rating — shoulder and hip width matter just as much for fit.
How much space does the Human Touch Certus need behind it?
Human Touch publishes a 2" wall clearance requirement. Measure from the finished wall — baseboards and outlet covers count against that gap.
What are the dimensions of the Human Touch Certus?
Upright, the published footprint is 63" L x 32" W x 47" H; fully reclined it measures 75" L x 32" W x 33" H. Check doorways and stair turns before delivery — the chair weighs 252 lbs.
Is the Human Touch Certus a 4D chair?
No. Human Touch lists the mechanism as 3D on an SL-track. 3D means adjustable roller depth; check the manual for which speed and rhythm controls this model offers.
Does the Human Touch Certus have foot rollers, and can they be turned off?
Yes, Human Touch lists foot rollers. We have not found a documented on/off or speed control for them in the sources we cite, so check the manual or ask the seller if that matters to you.
Where does the Human Touch Certus apply heat?
Human Touch publishes heat at: lumbar, calves, feet. Other areas are not listed as heated in the sources we cite.
What warranty comes with the Human Touch Certus?
Human Touch publishes: 5-year limited (5 years structural, 3 years parts, 1 year labor). Warranty terms often differ between the manufacturer and individual retailers, so confirm the coverage on the invoice you actually sign.
How much does the Human Touch Certus cost?
We recorded $8,999 at Discount Massage Chairs (authorized retailer) on 2026-09-27, where it was shown as sold out. Prices change often; confirm the current price and stock with the seller.

Update log

This page is re-checked at least every six months, and sooner when a price, warranty term or specification changes.

  1. 2026-09-27Retailer disclosure: the only checked seller (Discount Massage Chairs) lists factory-renewed Certus chairs under its own 2-year resale limited warranty, sold out in all colours at $8,999. That price is labelled renewed/resale and is not presented as a new-chair offer under Human Touch's 5/3/1 warranty. Human Touch's warranty page separates factory-renewed coverage from the new-chair 5/3/1 terms; we do not state a precise renewed coverage promise.
  2. 2026-09-27Replaced the representative stand-in photo with the cover photo from Human Touch's official Certus brochure. Removed 'no Bluetooth/app' entries that had been inferred from the brochure's silence, and stopped showing unsourced track length, airbag, zero-gravity and height figures. Rechecked the authorized retailer: $8,999, sold out in all colours. Humantouch.com has no current Certus page.
  3. 2026-09-27Wall clearance changed from 0 in (older brochure) to 2 in behind / 5 in in front, per Human Touch's current Certus support article; the conflict is disclosed. Warranty now cited to Human Touch's consumer warranties page (5 structural / 3 parts / 1 labor). Human Touch's doorway article lists 28.5 in for the Certus without stating the transport configuration. The linked Use & Care manual PDF returned 404 for us. Our earlier note that humantouch.com has no Certus page only means we could not load one.
  4. 2026-09-27Editorial correction to comparison text: the Super Novo 2.0 also has a convertible S/L track and the same standard 5/3/1 warranty tiers. Certus specifications were not re-verified.
  5. 2026-09-01Verified core specifications against Human Touch's official Certus brochure and published the record.
