What actually separates them
- Roller class: 4D on the Vera against 3D on the Certus. If more than one person uses the chair, adjustable depth is the feature that gets used most.
- Wall clearance: Human Touch publishes zero; Osaki publishes 9.25 inches for the Vera. Despite being the most compact Osaki, it needs the chair to sit well forward when reclining.
- Fit range: We have not verified a model-specific user height range for either chair in the sources checked. The Vera's 275 lb limit is slightly below the Certus's 285 lb.
- Track: A convertible S/L track on the Certus against a fixed SL track on the Vera — only the Certus lets you switch how far the stroke travels. Neither track length is verified.
- Connectivity: We have not verified app, Bluetooth or voice control for either chair in the sources checked. Do not choose between them on connectivity.
Who should buy which
Human Touch Certus: Choose the Human Touch Certus if rear space is tight (Human Touch's current guidance asks for 2 in behind versus the Vera's 9.25 in), if you want a convertible track, or if a five-year structural warranty matters more than roller technology.
Osaki OS-Ai Vera 4D+: Choose the Osaki OS-Pro Vera 4D+ if you want 4D depth control in Osaki's most compact published footprint, and you have the recline clearance for it.
Our verdict
The Vera is the better massage chair on paper; the Certus is the easier chair to live with. Measure the space behind where the chair will sit before anything else — 9.25 inches rules the Vera out of some rooms entirely.
