What actually separates them
- Roller class: 4D on the Vera against 3D on the Certus. If more than one person uses the chair, adjustable depth is the feature that gets used most.
- Wall clearance: Human Touch publishes zero; Osaki publishes 9.25 inches for the Vera. Despite being the most compact Osaki, it needs the chair to sit well forward when reclining.
- Fit range: Human Touch publishes 4'11"–6'4"; Osaki publishes no user height range for the Vera. Its 275 lb limit is slightly below the Certus's 285 lb.
- Track: A 50-inch convertible S/L track on the Certus against a 50-inch SL track on the Vera — same length, but only the Certus lets you switch how far the stroke travels.
- Connectivity: The Vera publishes app, Bluetooth and voice control; the Certus publishes none of the three.
Who should buy which
Human Touch Certus: Choose the Human Touch Certus if the chair must sit against a wall, if the user is shorter than average, or if a five-year structural warranty matters more than roller technology.
Osaki OS-Ai Vera 4D+: Choose the Osaki OS-Pro Vera 4D+ if you want 4D depth control and full connectivity in Osaki's most compact published footprint, and you have the recline clearance for it.
Our verdict
The Vera is the better massage chair on paper; the Certus is the easier chair to live with. Measure the space behind where the chair will sit before anything else — 9.25 inches rules the Vera out of some rooms entirely.
