Our Take

Our editorial assessment of this chair, based on verified specifications rather than hands-on testing. This is a Research Review.

The Genesis Max is the chair in Infinity's line-up we would point a tall buyer toward. It publishes a 5'2"–6'9" fit range, an 80-inch reclined length, 4D rollers on a 49-inch L track, three zero-gravity stages and a 300 lb limit — while requiring only two inches of wall clearance.

It is also a heavy chair at 323 lb, and Infinity does not publish voice control on this model, where the more expensive Luminary does. Heat is lumbar-only here too, which is the recurring gap across this brand's published range.

Our editorial assessment: on paper this is the better-value Infinity. It costs around $1,000 less than the Luminary, matches its roller class and track length, and accommodates seven more inches of user height. The reasons to choose the Luminary over it are design and voice control, not capability.

Where it fits in the Infinity range

The Genesis Max sits just below Infinity's flagship on price and above it on practical fit. Against the wider market it competes on height accommodation and warranty rather than on heat coverage or feature count.

Same recorded price or less

  • Ogawa Master Drive AI 2.0About $6,000 less than the Genesis Max4D on an SL track with a 320 lb limit and three heat zones, at roughly half the street price.
  • Osaki Platinum Solis Duo 4D+About $1,000 less than the Genesis MaxA dual 4D mechanism and a 330 lb weight limit for about $1,000 less, if capacity is the priority.

Higher recorded price

  • Infinity LuminaryAbout $1,000 more than the Genesis MaxThe same brand's design flagship, with voice control — but a much narrower 5'2"–6'2" fit range.

What you’re really paying for

What the Genesis Max price covers, based on Infinity's published specifications:

  • 5'2"–6'9" fit range and an 80-inch reclined lengthA 5'2" to 6'9" published range, second only to the Luraco i9 Max Plus among the chairs we have verified. If you are 6'4" or taller, this is the specification that should drive the decision.
  • 4D rollers on a 49-inch L trackAdjustable depth plus coverage that continues under the seat. This combination is what separates true flagship chairs from long-track 3D chairs.
  • Two inches of wall clearanceA 6'9"-capable chair that still sits close to a wall. Worth real money in a normally sized room.
  • Three zero-gravity positionsOne more recline stage than the Luminary. Useful, though the difference between stages is smaller than the marketing suggests.
  • Lumbar-only heat, no voice controlOverrated at this priceTwo omissions at a $13,000 price point. Neither is fatal, but both are worth knowing before you compare this against chairs that publish three or four heat zones.

Who it suits, who should skip it

Infinity's 4D flagship, now listed as Gen Max. Long L-track, a published 5 ft 2 in to 6 ft 9 in height range, and a 5-year warranty. Research Review built from Infinity's official specification sheet and manual; we have not sat in this chair.

Best for: Long-track 4D coverage for taller users. Skip it if you fall outside the stated fit (5'2" – 6'9", up to 300 lb), cannot give it 2" of wall clearance, or would rather spend less — our budget guides cover cheaper verified chairs.

Buying trade-offs from the published specs

  • Stated fit is 5'2" to 6'9"; if you sit near either end, check shoulder and foot-well position before committing.
  • It needs only 2 in. behind the backrest to recline, so it can sit close to a wall.
  • Its stated user weight limit is 300 lb; 6 chairs we publish list a higher limit.
  • 10 other 4D chairs we publish have a lower recorded price, so the premium has to be justified by fit, warranty or features.
  • Warranty as published: 5-year limited Infinity Care (5 years structural, 3 years parts, 1 year labor). Compare labor, parts and structure tiers separately.

Massage system

Rollers and track: 4D rollers on a L track quoted at 49". More roller axes add depth and rhythm control; track shape decides how far down the body the rollers travel.

Heat, recline and programs: heat at lumbar; an unverified number of zero-gravity position(s); stretch programs yes; body scanning yes.

We have not measured pressure, noise or heat output on this chair; these figures are the manufacturer's.

Controls and app

Voice control: Not verified. Bluetooth: Yes. Manufacturer app: Yes.

Frequently asked questions about the Infinity Genesis Max

Answers are generated from the same cited specifications shown above. Where a figure is not published by the manufacturer, we leave the question out rather than guess.

What height range does the Infinity Genesis Max fit?
Infinity publishes an optimal user height range of 5'2" to 6'9" for the Genesis Max. Outside that range the body scan can misplace the neck and lumbar rollers, so treat the ends of the range as limits rather than targets.
What is the weight limit on the Infinity Genesis Max?
The published maximum user weight is 300 lbs. That figure is a structural limit for the frame and airbags, not a comfort rating — shoulder and hip width matter just as much for fit.
How much space does the Infinity Genesis Max need behind it?
Infinity publishes a 2" wall clearance requirement. Measure from the finished wall — baseboards and outlet covers count against that gap.
What are the dimensions of the Infinity Genesis Max?
Upright, the published footprint is 48" L x 35" W x 66" H; fully reclined it measures 80" L x 35" W x 35" H. Check doorways and stair turns before delivery — the chair weighs 323 lbs.
Is the Infinity Genesis Max a 4D chair?
Yes. Infinity lists a 4D mechanism on an L-track, which means roller speed and depth are adjustable independently rather than fixed.
Does the Infinity Genesis Max have foot rollers, and can they be turned off?
Yes, Infinity lists foot rollers. We have not found a documented on/off or speed control for them in the sources we cite, so check the manual or ask the seller if that matters to you.
Where does the Infinity Genesis Max apply heat?
Infinity publishes heat at: lumbar. Other areas are not listed as heated in the sources we cite.
What warranty comes with the Infinity Genesis Max?
Infinity publishes: 5-year limited Infinity Care (5 years structural, 3 years parts, 1 year labor). Warranty terms often differ between the manufacturer and individual retailers, so confirm the coverage on the invoice you actually sign.
How much does the Infinity Genesis Max cost?
We recorded $12,999 at Infinity Massage Chairs (direct) on 2026-09-01. Prices change often; confirm the current price and stock with the seller.
Has ChairMentor tested the Infinity Genesis Max?

This page is re-checked at least every six months, and sooner when a price, warranty term or specification changes.

  1. 2026-09-27Editorial correction: removed a 'widest height range' claim (the Luraco i9 Max Plus publishes a wider range).
  2. 2026-09-01Verified core specifications against Infinity's official specification sheet, owner's manual and product page, then published the record. Infinity now lists this chair as Gen Max.
