Check the commercial exclusion first
Nearly every residential massage chair warranty is written for household use. Placing the same chair in a gym, clinic, hotel or office lobby commonly voids it outright.
Ask the manufacturer or dealer for commercial terms in writing before ordering. Some brands offer a separate commercial programme with shorter coverage and a service contract; that is the product you want, even at a higher price.
Duty cycle and session control
Residential chairs are designed around a few sessions a day. Back-to-back use for eight hours is a different mechanical load, and motor and gearbox wear shows up first.
Timed auto-programs help enforce turnover. Metered or paid sessions usually require a separate kiosk or token system rather than a chair feature.
Upholstery and cleaning
Synthetic upholstery handles frequent wipe-downs better than genuine leather, which dries and cracks under repeated alcohol-based cleaning. Ask which cleaners the manufacturer approves, because using the wrong one is itself a warranty exclusion.
Head and foot contact areas take the most wear, which is why disposable liners are common in commercial settings.
Layout and access
Plan for wall clearance at full recline plus circulation space, and check door and lift dimensions on the delivery path. These chairs typically weigh 200 to 300 lbs crated.
