Body Scan Accuracy: What It Gets Right and What It Misses
Body scanning is real and useful, but it is a rough measurement, not a medical mapping. Knowing what it measures explains why it sometimes puts the rollers in the wrong place.

What the scan measures
Most chairs run the rollers up the back once at low pressure and use sensor feedback to estimate shoulder height and the curve of the spine. The result is a roller path adjusted for your torso length.
That is the whole measurement. It does not detect tension, knots, injuries or muscle condition, whatever the interface animation suggests.
When it gets it wrong
Common causes of a bad scan are sitting with your shoulders raised, thick clothing, sitting off-centre, or a torso at the edge of the chair's supported range. Broad or sloped shoulders are frequently misread.
The usual symptom is rollers hitting the neck instead of the shoulders, or stopping short of them. Rescan while sitting square with relaxed shoulders before concluding the chair does not fit.
Manual correction is the feature that matters
The useful capability is not scan sophistication but whether you can override the result: adjust shoulder position up or down, and narrow or widen the roller spacing.
Body scanning is verified across the chairs we publish, so it is not a differentiator at these price points. How much manual correction the remote allows genuinely is.
Claims to discount
Language about AI analysis, health assessment or detecting problem areas goes beyond what a roller-pressure scan can establish. We do not repeat those claims in reviews.
Treat the scan as an ergonomic fitting step, and judge a chair by how well the rollers land after it.
