Editorial head-to-head

Osaki OS-Ai Vera 4D+ vs Osaki OS-4000XT

This is the clearest step-up decision in Osaki's line, because the two chairs differ on the specification that matters most — roller class — as well as on track, warranty and control.

The short version

Osaki OS-Ai Vera 4D+: 4d depth control in a compact footprint. 4D rollers on a SL track, with a stated fit range of Not verified in sources checked. Read the full review.

Osaki OS-4000XT: entry into a full-featured l-track chair. 2D rollers on a L track, with a stated fit range of Not verified in sources checked. Read the full review.

What actually separates them

  • Roller class: 4D on the Vera against 2D on the 4000XT. Adjustable depth versus fixed depth is the most consequential difference available anywhere in this range, especially in a shared household.
  • Track type: SL track on the Vera, L track on the 4000XT. Both continue under the seat; only the SL adds the upper-spine shaping.
  • Warranty: Five-year tiering on the Vera against one year of parts and labour, then parts only, on the 4000XT. On a chair with this much mechanism, that is a real cost difference over time.
  • Space: The 4000XT needs two inches of wall clearance and weighs 175 lb; the Vera needs 9.25 inches but is much shorter overall. Measure both dimensions before assuming the cheaper chair fits better.

Who should buy which

Osaki OS-Ai Vera 4D+: Choose the OS-Ai Vera 4D+ if you will use the chair regularly, more than one person will use it, or you want the longer warranty tiering.

Osaki OS-4000XT: Choose the OS-4000XT if this is a first chair, the budget is firm, or you are not yet certain how much use it will get.

Our verdict

The upgrade here is real rather than cosmetic, but it is not mandatory. Buy the 4000XT if you are testing the idea of owning a massage chair; buy the Vera if you already know you will use one.
